Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI), at Adams Castle on the southern tip of Christ Church, is Barbados' only international airport and one of the busier gateways in the Eastern Caribbean. It handles direct long-haul services from London Gatwick and Heathrow, New York, Miami, Toronto, Frankfurt and Manchester, along with a dense regional network across the Caribbean via LIAT successor airlines, Caribbean Airlines and InterCaribbean. Facilities include duty-free shopping (open to arriving passengers as well as departures), restaurants, car-rental desks, ATMs and taxi ranks. It is about 15 minutes from the south coast hotels and roughly 40 minutes from the west coast.
