Born in Bridgetown in 1998, Hayley Matthews is the current captain of the West Indies women's team and one of the most complete all-rounders in international cricket. An attacking top-order batter and skilful off-spinner, she has won multiple ICC Player of the Month awards and is the all-time leading run-scorer and wicket-taker in the Women's Caribbean Premier League. She led the Barbados Royals Women to back-to-back WCPL titles in 2023 and 2024 and remains a central figure for the West Indies and global T20 franchise cricket.
