Celtic Festival Barbados

Cultural Festival · Island Wide · May

Rating: 4.3 / 5

The Celtic Festival Barbados celebrates the island's often-overlooked Irish and Scottish heritage, a strand of Bajan history that runs back to the indentured labour and planter migrations of the 17th century. Held each May, the multi-day programme includes traditional music and dance, pipe bands, lectures on Caribbean-Celtic history, genealogy workshops and social nights at venues across the island. It is one of the more distinctive niche festivals on the calendar and draws visitors with Scottish, Irish and Bajan-Redleg ancestry tracing their family stories.
