Long Beach

East Coast · St. Philip

Rating: 4.5 / 5

Long Beach lives up to its name — nearly a mile of open Atlantic sand running between Inch Marlow and Long Bay in the far south-east of St. Philip. The wind is constant, the waves are serious, and at low tide you can walk for an hour and barely pass another person. It's one of the best stretches on the island for long scenic walks and kite-flying, and kitesurfers occasionally use the far western end when conditions suit. Swimming is risky because of undertows, so treat it as a walking and photography beach rather than a dipping one. Access is down a rough road off Highway 7.
